Product Introduction:
Bortecad 2mg Injection is a chemotherapy drug classified as a proteasome inhibitor. It is widely used in cancer therapy, particularly for multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). The drug works by blocking the 26S proteasome, an enzyme that breaks down unwanted proteins in cells. By doing so, it accumulates toxic proteins inside cancer cells, leading to their death.

Uses of Bortecad 2mg
Bortecad 2mg is used in the treatment of:
  1. Multiple Myeloma – A cancer of plasma cells affecting bone marrow.
  2. Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) – A rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
  3. Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia (Off-label Use) – A type of slow-growing lymphoma.
  4. Light Chain Amyloidosis (Off-label Use) – A disorder where abnormal proteins accumulate in organs.
  5. Other Hematological Malignancies (Experimental Uses).

How Bortecad 2mg Works (Mechanism of Action):
  1. Bortezomib selectively inhibits the 26S proteasome, preventing cancer cells from breaking down proteins.
  2. Cancer cells rely on proteasomes for survival and proliferation.
  3. By blocking proteasome activity, Bortecad disrupts normal protein degradation, leading to accumulation of toxic proteins inside cancer cells.
  4. This causes stress and apoptosis (cell death), slowing tumor growth and cancer progression.
