How it Works (Mechanism of Action):
Voriconazole works by inhibiting the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme 14α-demethylase, which is essential for ergosterol synthesis. Ergosterol is a vital component of the fungal cell membrane, and its disruption leads to increased cell permeability and fungal cell death.
