Imatirel 400mg is a generic version of Imatinib Mesylate, developed for the effective treatment of blood-related and soft tissue cancers. Manufactured by Reliance Life Sciences, it belongs to a class of medicines known as Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors (TKIs). It is specifically formulated to block signals within cancer cells that cause them to grow and divide uncontrollably.

  2. Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST)
  3. Philadelphia chromosome-positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Ph+ ALL)

How it Works (Mechanism of Action):
Imatinib targets and inhibits BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, the abnormal protein responsible for the uncontrolled growth of white blood cells in CML.
  1. It also inhibits c-KIT and PDGF receptors, which are involved in the growth of GIST and other tumors.
  2. This leads to reduced proliferation and survival of cancer cells, slowing or stopping the disease.
