Product Intro:
Geffy 250mg, manufactured by Intas Pharmaceuticals, contains Gefitinib, a targeted therapy for treating EGFR mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer. It is taken orally and provides a less invasive treatment alternative to traditional chemotherapy.

Uses:
  1. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) – especially with EGFR gene mutations
  2. Locally advanced or metastatic lung cancer
  3. First-line treatment in EGFR mutation-positive tumors
  4. Maintenance therapy post-chemotherapy response
  5. Alternative treatment in patients intolerant to traditional chemotherapy
  6. Off-label use in research for other EGFR-expressing tumors

Storage Instructions:
  1. Store at room temperature (15°C to 30°C)
  2. Keep in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture
  3. Keep away from children and pets
  4. Do not use expired or damaged tablets

How it Works (Mechanism of Action):
Gefitinib is a selective inhibitor of EGFR tyrosine kinase, a protein involved in signaling pathways that control cell division and survival.
  1. It binds to the ATP-binding site of the EGFR
  2. Inhibits phosphorylation, blocking downstream signaling
  3. Reduces tumor cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and metastasis
It is particularly effective in cancers with specific EGFR gene mutations.

Side Effects:
Common Side Effects:
  1. Acne-like rash
  2. Diarrhea
  3. Nausea
  4. Loss of appetite
  5. Fatigue

  5. Not recommended during breastfeeding

Drug Interactions:
  1. CYP3A4 inducers (e.g., rifampicin, phenytoin) may reduce efficacy
  2. CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole) may increase toxicity
  3. Proton pump inhibitors and antacids can reduce absorption
  4. Warfarin – monitor INR closely
  5. Herbal supplements (e.g., St. John’s Wort) may interfere with its activity

Allergies:
  1. Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to Gefitinib or its excipients
